Hello! You don't know me, but I recently, randomly decided to apply for a job as a librarian at a county jail. I have a phone interview on Monday. I've never actually worked in corrections before, and wanted to know what the job might be like, so I googled the subject and found your blog. I just wanted to say thanks for sharing your stories; even if I don't get the job (or if I do, but I chicken out and turn it down), I've enjoyed reading about your experiences. God bless, Heidi
Congratulations on getting an interview and good luck! You may have stumbled upon your true calling and if not at least it's interview experience! 😉 my suggestions are if you don't know the answer to a question, admit it but then say you will follow policy. Corrections are big proponents of following policy. Also, see if you can tour the library prior to making a decision if that is not a part of the interview process there.
